Colorado's
multiple personalities keep traveling families on their toes. Locals
have been known to watch Fourth of July fireworks in their ski parkas,
and hike in shirt sleeves on Christmas Day. That's partly because the
state has climates ranging from high plains prairies to toothy mountain
ranges to red rock desert canyons. It's also partly due to fickle
skies affected by those mountains that often make their own weather.
